What happens if I miss a day?

What version of the Bible should I read?
Read the version of the Bible that you are most comfortable with, as long as it's the BIBLE.

Reading the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs helps put the Bible in perspective. It keeps you interested and each book speaks to your whole life.

I have missed the first three months?
That's okay. Start today. You will then finish your year next March.

What is the purpose of Lent?
Lent is a time set aside to prepare us for Easter, which celebrates the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which begins the 40 day period leading up to Easter. .

How do I decide what to give up for Lent?
Pray and ask God for the right thing to give up. Some possibilities include secular music, media, red meat, sweets, etc. You can also add reading through the Bible for 40 days.

Do I have to fast for 40 days?

The correct term is probably self-denial. During the 40-day period, you should deny yourself some kind of pleasure for a spiritual reason. For example, don't give up sweets to lose weight. Your desire should be to deny yourself in order to be closer to God!
