the greatest church in the world!

CHURCH OPERATIONS
Director:
Sharon Cobbins

"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office. So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." Romans 12: 4-5

Our mission is to meet the demands of the Church Operations through our First Impressions Teams to ensure guests and members have a warm and pleasant experience from their first point of contact with Salem Baptist Church of Chicago to the last.

Ushers
"For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalms 84:10

"Keepers of the Door!" Ushers are very visible, and represent Christ and the church through serving our guests and members to ensure they feel welcomed in preparation for praise, worship, and the Word of God. Ushers assist in the smooth operations of service and are prepared at all times to address any emergencies, disturbances, or any situation requiring special attention during worship service.

Greeters
"Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality." Romans 12:10-13

Greeters are the first smiling faces members and guests see as they enter into the church for Sunday Worship Service and Wednesday Bible Study. Greeters are warm, friendly and helpful. Greeters greet every person with a smile, and an enthusiastic Christian welcome! "Our welcome is intended to say "thank you" for fellowshipping with us."

Parking
"Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:5

The mission of the Alpha and Omega Parking Ministry is to glorify God by effectively managing our parking lots, compassionately serving the membership, and lovingly supporting our team members.

The Parking Ministry has the privilege of being the very first point of contact to welcome guests and members to the church! Our Parking Ministry ensures handicap and elderly guests and members have adequate parking space, direct the shuttle buses as they drop off from remote parking locations, and ensure emergency/fire lanes are never blocked.
